Working on My Character Defects
...IN MY FOURTH STEP
I did not believe that I was beautiful.
I did not believe I love myself enough.
I did not believe I had a lot of courage.
I did not own my own power.
It was suggested to me: To make out a POSITIVE contract with myself.
So my contract was: I AM A BEAUTIFUL, LOVING, COURAGEOUS AND POWERFUL WOMAN! YES I AM!
I was asked to practice this out loud at least five to ten times a day in front of my mirror, until I started to believe it.
I did this for at least two years and then I started to believe it.
Then I moved on to the next four defects.
I am not cheerful enough.
I am not compassionate enough
I am not patient enough
I am not spontaneous enough
I made out another contract: I AM A CHEERFUL, COMPASSIONATE, PATIENT AND SPONTANEOUS WOMAN. YES I AM!
I practiced this one for a year. I am actually still practicing patience and spontaneity. Not being spontaneous has proven to also be an asset of mine. Very often when I want to jump into something, I hold back and sleep on it. It has prevented me from making some serious mistakes.
Now I am working on: I AM A CONFIDENT, TRUSTWORTHY, TOLERANT, AND WORTHY, WOMAN! YES I AM! I am sure there always is new stuff to work on.
